This coming festive season, PUSPAKOM is offering a free inspection service for privately-registered vehicles at most of its inspection centres nationwide. The exceptions are the centres at Shah Alam, Taman Bukit Maluri, Mak Mandin and Kota Bharu which are for inspection of commercial vehicles only. The inspections are available from 8 am to 5 pm daily (subject to hours of operation of each branch in different states). There is no need to make an appointment and motorists who wish to have this inspection will be given priority.
The inspection is part of the campaign #drivesafenoregrets and will be available from June 13 until June 23, 2017. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of the importance of safe driving, and also encourage motorists to have their vehicles examined to ensure they are in a safe condition before embarking on a long journey, whether to balik kampung or go on holiday.
“The Voluntary Vehicle Inspection or VVI covers 25 areas including exhaust emissions, suspension, lights, brakes and glass transparency levels. The VVI report will be issued shortly after the inspection is carried out and this report will provide the owner information about the condition of his or her vehicle,” said the CEO of PUSPAKOM, Mohammed Shukor Ismail.
“Prior to the same festive season last year, PUSPAKOM examined a total of 3,000 vehicles. Through the #drivesafenoregrets campaign, PUSPAKOM hopes for a 10% increase in the number of vehicle inspections this year. We hope that more drivers take the initiative to send their vehicles to PUSPAKOM for this free service,” he added.
In conjunction with the campaign, PUSPAKOM also has a contest with smartphones and TouchNGo cards to be won. Those who send their vehicles for the free inspection are invited to send a picture with a caption by Private Message to PUSPAKOM’s Facebook page. The winners will be determined by the amount of ‘LIKES’ their picture received from the public and also for the most creative caption. Contest entries must be submitted by June 28, 2017.
